High School Competitive Gymnastics Program


Program Overview

This program requires absolutely no previous gymnastics experience but it is restricted to those who are fully committed to training and competing to represent their High School in local and provincial competitions. Physical activity, strength, coordination, flexibility, and goal setting are just some of the many components of this program. By working on fundamental and advanced gymnastic movements and activities, you will have an opportunity to develop and improve their overall agility, strength, coordination, flexibility and self-confidence in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

Ages: 13-17 year olds
Group size: eight children to each coach
Class length: 2 hours

New and Want to Join?

This program has a maximum capacity of approx. 30 athletes on a yearly basis and is typically full. Program registration is restricted to participants who are already part of the program. If you are new and would like to be kept informed as to when new spots become available please contact us at kin.outreach@ubc.ca or 604-822-0207 and your name will be added to our waitlist. We contact those on the waitlist every Summer.

In addition to the seasonal class registration fees, please anticipate expenses to be incurred for 3 local competitions (mandatory), the BC Provincials competition (pending qualification and may include travel and accomodation), bodysuits, additional training sessions in December.

Summer (July/August): Off Season. Select Training camps are offered

Fall (Sept-Dec): Weekly classes. Competitive season begins.

Winter (Jan-Mar): Weekly classes, local competitions, provincial competition (may require travel). Competitive season ends.

Spring (May-June): Weekly classes
