Location & Getting Here

The majority of programs offered through the Kinesiology Outreach Programs are centred in the Osborne Centre at UBC Point Grey.

Osborne Centre is located at 6108 Thunderbird Boulevard.  The BodyWorks Fitness Centre and UBC Gymnastics are located on the main floor in Building 1 of the Osborne Centre (which is on the eastern side, adjacent to the parking lot).

There are some programs that are run in different facilities, such as BodyWGoogle Map of BW sans copyrightorks Fitness Centre’s Changing Aging and Fit Over 50 classes at Kerrisdale Community Centre and Dunbar Community Centre.

Parking at Osborne Centre

Short-term parking is available in the paylot on the east side of the Osborne Centre, with access off Thunderbird Boulevard.  All of the parking in and around the Osborne Centre is maintained by UBC Parking and Access Control Services. To learn about rates (which can vary), please visit their website.

Long-term parking is available in the Thunderbird Parkade, which is across the street from the Osborne Centre.

Accessing Osborne Centre by Transit

The UBC bus loop is a 10-15 minute walk from the Osborne Centre.  From the bus loop, you will want to walk south down Wesbrook Mall and turn right on Thunderbird Boulevard. The Osborne Centre is on your left. You can also take a bus from the bus loop (25, 33, 41, 43, 49, 480) which will drop you on the corner of Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook.  You can use the BC Translink website’s “Trip Planner” to figure out the right buses to take from your home/work to UBC.

Accessing Osborne Centre by Bicycle
We’re happy to say we have two bike racks outside of the Osborne Centre – one of which is under cover to keep your bike out of the rain.  The bike rack under cover is located between the Unit 2 and Unit 1 buildings of the Osborne Centre and it is the best choice for your bicycle security as it is in a higher traffic area.  While we have not had any recent thefts of bicycles at the Osborne Centre, UBC does have a problem with bike theft so we encourage you to secure your bike well.   Learn more about bicycle commuting at UBC from UBC Campus and Community Planning.
